BAGUIO CITY—Police seized P4.3-million worth of marijuana found in the back seat of an SUV in Tinglayan town, Kalinga on Tuesday (May 19) as the province went on general community quarantine, according to the Cordillera police on Wednesday (May 20).
The sports utility vehicle was flagged down at the village of Bugnay where policemen found dried marijuana stalks and leaves sticking out of a sack when they peered through the SUV’s windshield, according to Brig. Gen. R’Win Pagkalinawan, Cordillera police chief.
The marijuana haul was behind Rich Vandamme Alegre Armoreda and Martin Serrano who were seated in the SUV.
On the same day, three police operations led to the arrest of six individuals for peddling shabu, or crystal meth.
Jereliniel Dela Cruz Cabungkal was caught in a drug bust at Balili village in the Benguet capital town, La Trinidad, while Leonard Killi Tauli was detained in Tuba town, also in Benguet.
In Baguio, Maricel Porcioncula, Shannen Antonio, Joel Bautista, and Angelito Banate were detained after selling shabu to undercover policemen in Purok Mangitit, Camp 7 village along Kennon Road.
