MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Archie Gamboa has appointed three police generals to new key posts in the nation’s police force.
“Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa has ordered anew the latest round of reorganization of some senior officials occupying key positions in Police Regional Office 12 and Camp Crame-based directorates,” read the statement from PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac on Wednesday.
Police Major Gen. Dionardo Carlos was assigned as chief of Directorate for Police Community Relations which handles police community affairs and media relations programs. Carlos was former Director for Information and Communication Technology Management (DICTM).
He will replace Police Major Gen. Benigno Durana Jr. who retired on Wednesday after serving 30 years at the PNP and military service. Durana formerly served as PNP Spokesman and Chief of Public Information Office.
Police Major Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz was designated as the DICTM head after serving as Director of Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) – Western Mindanao.
Police Brig. Gen. Alfred Corpus will replace Vera Cruz’s post at the DIPO Western Mindanao. Corpus was former Soccsksargen police director, and the post will now be assigned to Police Brig. Gen. Michael Dubria, former director of Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA).
Col. Sidney Villaflor was appointed as acting chief of SOSIA under the PNP Civil Security Group.
Banac said the latest reshuffle in the police organization takes effect on Wednesday, May 20.
