DOTr identifies 16 bus stops on Edsa once GCQ is enforced
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it has identified 16 bus stops along Edsa where commuters can be picked-up or dropped-off once bus services resume with the placing of Metro Manila under a general community quarantine (GCQ).
Transportation Assistant Secretary Alberto Suansing in a radio interview said the bus stops will be just to “pick and drop” passengers and will be located at the stations of the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3).
“Nag-identify tayo ng bus stops kasi ang gagamitin nating bus stop yung terminal ng MRT (Metro Rail Transit),” Suansing told dzMM when asked if buses will undertake a “pick and drop scheme” under GCQ.

“Para icontrol natin ang pasahero, nagtalaga tayo ng bus stops. Ang inidentify natin 16 na bus stop along the way. From Monumento hanggang Mall of Asia,” he added.

Under DOTr guidelines, public utility vehicles are directed to reduce passengers up to 50 percent to ensure physical distancing is followed inside the vehicle.
Currently, public transport is still prohibited in Metro Manila as it is under a modified enhanced community quarantine.
