MANILA, Philippines – Lower courts located in areas under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) will remain closed but those under general community quarantine (GCQ) would physically open starting on Monday.

Through two circulars issued on Friday by Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta, the high court said all branches of lower courts in areas under GCQ would be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and manned by skeleton staff, assigned on rotation basis by the executive judge.

All physical meetings and trainings were ordered deferred until May 31.
