A man unintentionally turned himself over to the police in Ontario, Canada, by trying to break into an unmarked police car, which had an officer sitting inside.

Greater Sudbury police had gotten a report of a 25-year-old man trying to break into parked cars late Thursday night, May 14, as per CTV News the next day.

Two cops responded by parking unmarked police cars in the reported area, which was around The Kingsway and Second Avenue, and waited for the would-be thief.

“The man was arrested after he tried to enter the unmarked cruiser with one of the officers inside,” the police were quoted as saying in a statement.

Police noted that the 25-year-old, whose name was withheld, also had methamphetamine and Fentanyl in his possession, resulting in a drug charge. He is also facing two counts of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime. Ian Biong /ra
