Pasig, Manila, Mandaluyong receive COVID-19 testing booths
MANILA, Philippines—The cities of Pasig, Manila, and Mandaluyong have received testing booths to aid in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 24 testing booths were turned over to the Mandaluyong Mayor Carmelita Abalos, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno as a donation from San Miguel Corporation.
Testing booths will also be donated to the other areas in Metro Manila namely Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Makati, Navotas, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, Valenzuela, Pasay, and Pateros this coming week.
Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing machines and RNA machines will also be donated to key government hospitals.
“We are fully committed to helping all our Metro Manila LGUs increase their Covid-19 testing capabilities, in support of the national government’s expanded testing goals,” said SMC president Ramon S. Ang.

Ang added that testing should be made available to more people and that it should be free to poor families.
“We need to be able to find a way to make testing accessible to all. Everyone should have equal access, not just those who have the means,” said Ang.
