Metro Manila, Luzon provinces to experience rainy Tuesday night

MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon may expect a rainy Tuesday evening over their respective areas, the state weather bureau said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 5:40 p.m. the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds is expected over Metro Manila, Tarlac, Pampanga, Laguna and Quezon province within the next two hours.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said that the aforementioned weather conditions are currently being experienced over Zambales (Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig); Bulacan (Norzagaray, Angat, Doña Remedios Trinidad, San Rafael); Rodriguez, Rizal; Cavite (Indang, Magallnes, Naic, Tanza, Amadeo, Tagaytay); Batangas (Tanauan, Balete, Lipa) and Nueva Ecija, which may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa said.

The state weather bureau earlier said that the latest weather disturbance inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Tropical Depression Ambo, was last spotted at 410 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte.

Ambo also packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

The tropical depression was also monitored moving north-northeastward slowly.

State meteorologists earlier said that Ambo may start bringing rains over Metro Manila between Thursday and Friday, as it may make landfall over the Bicol region and may cross over Quezon province.
