MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rattled Zambales on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake, state volcanologists added, was felt in other areas, including some parts of Metro Manila, at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday.
The quake struck at six kilometers southwest of Palauig town.
Phivolcs said that the tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a 48-kilometer depth of focus.
Reported Intensity III – Mayantoc, Tarlac
Reported Intensity II – Masinloc, Zambales; Mandaluyong City & Marikina City
Reported Intensity I – Botolan, Zambales; City of Manila
Instrumental Intensity I – Marikina City
No aftershock or damage was expected, Phivolcs added.
