TUGUEGARAO CITY –– A hospital nurse was discharged on Tuesday (May 12) from the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), after beating the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and has been sent home for a “strictly monitored” 14-day quarantine, the hospital chief said.
PH8636, a native of Carig Sur village in this city, tested negative for the virus on Monday (May 11), said Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, CVMC hospital chief.
A doctor, who contracted the disease while treating COVID-19 patients, is the lone patient under CVMC care.
She has been stable and has been asymptomatic, but her second swab test has yet to be released by the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), Baggao said. BGHMC is one of the hospitals tapped to process and detect COVID-19 transmissions.
“So far, we had 17 confirmed cases and 12 came from Tuguegarao City. Now, we have 16 who have tested negative of the virus,” he said.
Doctors are also awaiting the results of a second swab sample taken from a Nueva Vizcaya patient, PH8638 of Aritao town, who is confined at the Region 2 Trauma Medical Center.
Ten Isabela patients have all recovered.
A total of 34 cases were recorded in Cagayan Valley (Region II). The provinces of Quirino and Batanes remain free of COVID-19.
