1 slain, 5 nabbed in Bicol drug stings
LEGAZPI CITY –– A suspected drug pusher was killed, while five others were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Bicol on Monday night, police said.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, said suspected drug pusher Jonil Borromeo was killed while resisting arrest in a police operation in Barangay Del Rosario Iriga City, Camarines Sur around 6 p.m.
Police recovered from the suspect a .38 caliber handgun, and sachets of shabu (crystal meth).
In Buhi town, suspects Bobby and Christopher Samantela, and Christopher Arroyo were caught selling shabu to an undercover police agent in Barangay De Los Angeles at 7:15 p.m.
Recovered from them was a sachet of shabu worth P125,000.
In Albay, Bobby Vargas of Barangay Cormidal in Tabaco City was caught selling shabu in the said village at 6:40 p.m.
Recovered from him were five sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with a street value of P136,000.
In Palanas, Masbate, Leynard Bryan, was arrested with two sachets of shabu in Barangay Nabangig.
