MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects were arrested after yielding 201.2 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth an estimated P1.2 million in a drug sting Monday night in Tondo, Manila.
Arrested were Rohaina Aliman, 23, and Baenot Uto, 38, a National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) report stated Tuesday.
The NCRPO said operatives from the Manila Police District’s Tondo police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency hatched a buy-bust operation against the suspects along C.M. Recto Street in Barangay 11 at 9:30 p.m.
An undercover police officer managed to buy P500 worth of shabu from the suspects, who were immediately arrested by other members of the police team.
Also seized in the anti-drug operation were a small dark blue pouch bag and P500 worth of marked money.
Aliman and Uto were detained at the police station and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
