Manila starts building quarantine facility at Tondo High School
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila City government has started building a quarantine facility at Tondo High School, Mayor Isko Moreno announced Monday.
“Gusto natin within the community at madaling maabot at mapuntahan ng mga posibleng maimpeksyon or mahawa,” he said in his city address aired on Facebook.
[We want it within the community so that it will be readily accessible to those who might be infected.]
The construction of other facilities is also underway at Delpan and Araullo High School to boost the city government’s response against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following areas will also have quarantine facilities installed:

- P Gomez High School
- Arellano High School
- Dapitan Sports Complex
- Bacood Elementary School
Manila, one of the cities with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region, is now capable of conducting 300 swab tests a day, Moreno said.
