3 COVID-19 suspects die in Palawan

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY –– The Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the Department of Health recorded three suspected COVID-19 casualties in Palawan, bringing the total fatalities in the province to 28.

Richard Ligad, city information officer, in a video announcement aired live on Facebook Wednesday afternoon, said the two deceased suspect COVID-19 patients in Puerto Princesa were swabbed and the results are still to be released.

The deceased patients include a 70-75-year-old male from a rural barangay, who died on May 4, and a 55-60-year-old male from an urban barangay, who died on May 6. Both suspect COVID-19 patients have known comorbidities.

The profile of the third deceased patient has yet to be disclosed as it is still under investigation.

Palawan has a total of 73 suspect COVID-19 patients, 21 of whom were admitted in different hospitals, while 52 remained under strict home quarantine, as of 3 p.m. of May 6.
