LPA may enter PH tonight or tomorrow morning
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday night or early Friday morning.
The LPA was last located 1,275 kilometers east southeast of Davao City, Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas said in a 4 a.m. weather update.
“Mababa ang tsansa sa kasalukuyan na ang LPA na ito ay maging isang bagyo. Ito po ay kikilos pa-hilaganag kanluran at posibleng lumapit sa kalupaan ng Mindanao (There is low chance this LPA would develop into a storm. It will move northwest and may go near Mindanao),” he said, adding that this scenario may still change.
Meanwhile, due to the ridge or extension of a high pressure area, Ilocos, Bicol, and Cagayan Valley regions will experience generally fair weather with a low chance of rain.
The rest of Luzon may experience rains in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms, according to Rojas.
