MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reminded the public that Mt. Halcon in Oriental Mindoro is not a volcano and will not erupt.
Reports of an alleged eruption at Mt. Halcon, the highest peak in the Central Mindoro Ranges, are circulating around social media with photos of an illuminated cloud, presumably emanating from the peak.
We assure the public that Mt. Halcon is NOT A VOLCANO and will not erupt.
