Son of driver who tested positive also contracts COVID-19 in Legazpi City
GUINOBATAN, Albay — A 27-year-old man from Legazpi City became Bicol’s 47th patient for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) reported Tuesday.
The patient, who is the son of the driver who also tested positive for the disease three days ago, has rheumatic heart disease (RHD) as a comorbidity, said Dr. Antonio Ludovice of Albay’s Provincial Health Office.
The patient, tagged as Bicol #47, first experienced symptoms on Friday (May 1).
He was quarantined at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation and was scheduled for transfer to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital on Tuesday evening, Albay’s top doctor said.
The patient’s father, Bicol #44, was a jeepney driver who volunteered as a village driver during the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
