LEGAZPI CITY –– Unidentified men torched several units of heavy equipment on Monday night at a limestone quarry site in a remote village in Camalig town, Albay.

An initial police report said the men burned four backhoes, two payloaders, another quarry equipment, and four nipa huts used as temporary shelters by quarry workers of the Goodfound Cement Corp., at 9:15 p.m. in Barangay Miti, about seven kilometers from the town proper.

The burned heavy equipment were parked at the quarry site while police recovered five empty containers of gasoline, the report said.
