Visayas, parts of Mindanao to have cloudy skies, scattered rains

MANILA, Philippines — A Low Pressure Area (LPA) previously spotted in the vicinity of Marihatag, Surigao Del Sur dissolved early Monday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“’Yung binabantayan po nating LPA ay nalusaw na po kaninang 2 a.m. Sa kasalukuyan, Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) ang nakakaapekto sa buong Mindanao at Visayas. Habang easterlies naman ang umiiral sa Southern Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Sheilla Reyes said in a 4 a.m. weather update.

(The LPA we were monitoring dissolved at 2 a.m. Currently, the ITCZ affects the weather condition in the entire Mindanao and Visayas while easterlies prevail over Southern Luzon.)

According to Pagasa’s weather bulletin, the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.
