Pasay launches anti-bully hotline for frontliners, COVID-19 patients

MANILA, Philippines — The Pasay City government on Tuesday launched an Anti-Discrimination Hotline to help frontline workers and patients who contracted coronavirus disease (COVID-19 ) raise their complaints of harassment amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.

Victims must submit their name, contact numbers, address, and report of discrimination or harassment through contact numbers 0961-6804984 / 0966-2473608 / 0928-6563958 / 0922-7493800 and 0950-198773, the Pasay Public Information Office said.

The contact numbers may be accessed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for calls while text messages are accepted from 5:01 p.m. until 7:59 a.m.

The city government previously approved an ordinance to protect frontliners, COVID-19 patients, and those suspected carriers of the new coronavirus from discrimination, stigma, and harassment.

Violators of the said ordinance will pay a fine of up to P5,000 and will be detained for not more than six months.
