MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday requested around 10,000 more police officers from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Headquarters to help in guarding quarantine control points as the enhanced community quarantine extends until May 15.

“Kailangan ng augmentation ng NCRPO para mabigyan ng rest yung mga tao namin. Just imagine 45 days straight po yan sila. Yung hinihingi ko sa Camp Crame, sampung libo,” Metro Manila police chief Major Gen. Debold Sinas said in an online press conference.

(The NCRPO needs augmentation to allow our policemen to rest. Just imagine they are on duty for 45 days. I am asking 10,000 police officers from Camp Crame.)
