673 OFWs from Italy, Maldives back home amid COVID-19 pandemic

MANILA, Philippines —Six hundred seventy three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Italy and Maldives returned home amid due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on Saturday.

In a Twitter post, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the 336 OFWs from Maldives arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on board a chartered Philippine Airlines flight Saturday night.

Meanwhile, 337 Filipino seafarers from Costa Diadema, Costa Luminosa & Costa Smeralda from Italy likewise arrived Saturday at the Naia on separate flights.

All returning OFWs are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine before they are allowed to go home.
