MANILA, Philippines — The number of Manila City residents infected with coronavirus SARS CoV-2 that causes the respiratory illness COVID-19 has topped 600, including 37 new cases recorded Saturday, the local health department said.
In a tweet of the Manila Public Information Office, the Manila Health Department said it has already documented a total of 608 residents positive for the new virus.
Meanwhile, the city’s death toll due to COVID-19 remains at 58 while the count of recovered patients also stays at 88 as of April 25.
Nevertheless, the city health department said it has recorded 851 suspected carriers of the coronavirus. These people were tagged as “suspects” or those with symptoms of the infection but are yet to be tested for the virus.
