Trillanes asks, ‘Where’s the plan for extended quarantine?’

MANILA, Philippines — Where’s the detailed plan up to May 15 and post-ECQ (enhanced community quarantine)?

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV posed the question in his Twitter on Friday after Duterte extended the imposition of ECQ in several areas in the country such as Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and other “high-risk” areas in Luzon.

“Seriously, where’s (the) detailed plan up to May 15 (and) post-ECQ (mass testing, more efficient welfare funds delivery, economic stimulus, etc)? More importantly, where’s the part where he’s supposed to inspire, allay fears (and) give people hope?” Trillanes tweeted.

The announcement of the extension of the quarantine was made by Duterte during a taped briefing aired on Friday.

Aside from the three regions, Pangasinan, Benguet, Albay, Catanduanes, and the Mindoro provinces will likewise remain under ECQ due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.

However, the extension of the quarantine in the provinces of Benguet, Pangasinan, Tarlac, and Zambales is still subject to “re-checking” and may still be revised by April 30.

Duterte-Trillanes word war

Trillanes also seemingly took a swipe at an unnamed “lurker” on Twitter.

“May lurker pala ako dito sa Twitter,” Trillanes said.

While Trillanes did not mention any names, the tweet was posted merely hours after Duterte threatened that he would get the former senator slapped.

“’Yang sinasabi ni isa pa itong walang alam na ugok itong si Trillanes. Nagsasalita ng trillion trillion, trillion ng hangin. Trillion of cubic meters of air in your head and it is too tight that is why para kang buang na nagsasalita ka ng trillon,” Duterte said.

“Puro porma, puro hambog, puro hamon at batukan mo raw ako? Sabihin ko sa driver ko sampalin ka. Ang driver ko na ang utusan ko. Ang tingin ko sa iyo, ka-level mo driver,” the President added.

Duterte made the remark in response to Trillanes’ earlier tweet who noted that the national government has over a P4 trillion budget for 2020.
