Poll: 80% of Filipinos ‘satisfied’ with gov’t response to health crisis
Malacañang hailed the findings of the global polling firm Gallup International which indicated that 80 percent, or majority, of Filipinos are satisfied with the government’s response to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.
“President Duterte is thankful that 80 percent of Filipinos believe that the government handled the COVID-19 issue well,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a press briefing, referring to the results of a Gallup poll conducted from April 6 to 8 in several countries including the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand in Southeast Asia.
Only 18 percent of Filipinos said they were dissatisfied with the government’s response to the pandemic, while 2 percent were undecided.
The survey also showed that 86 percent of Filipinos said they were willing to sacrifice some human rights to help curb the spread of the disease.
