MANILA, Philippines—Damage wrought by the fire which not only gutted a commercial establishment in Pasay City but also disrupted train operations Tuesday night has reached P8.5 million, a spokesperson of the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region said on Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Renato Marcial said that more than 200 stalls in Sto. Niño village in Baclaran, Pasay City, owned by the Renato Realty Development Corporation were consumed by flames that hit the establishments at around 8:15 p.m.

The fire reached Task Force Bravo before it was put out by firefighters and volunteers at around 4:39 a.m., prompting more than 15 firetrucks from the BFP, two ambulances, and some 20 volunteer firetrucks to the area, Marcial said.
