MANILA, Philippines—A member of the Philippine Army (PA) was wounded in a clash between government troops and alleged rebel groups in Agusan del Norte Sunday, reports reaching Camp Crame said Monday.

Private First Class Ian Calcapa was wounded when members of the Peace Development Team (PDT) encountered around 20 suspected rebels while conducting a security patrol at around 8:45 a.m. in Sitio (sub-village) Bato-bato in Tagbongabong village, Remedios T. Romualdez town, Agusan del Norte, said the report.

The alleged rebels withdrew on southeast direction, the report said.

The army has discovered an ‘enemy harbor area’ 200 meters away from encounter site, the report stated. They also recovered the rebels’ personal belongings.
