Naga confiscates 700 quarantine leave passes

GUINOBATAN, Albay –– Since the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, the city government of Naga has confiscated 713 leave passes, its official social media account reported on Tuesday.

The home quarantine leave passes were given to one representative per household, aged between 18 and 59, to be used when buying basic commodities within the city.

“From March 17 to April 20, we have already confiscated 713 leave passes within the city,” according to Naga City.

In a statement on March 20, Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion said the passes were to be used only during the dates and hours indicated in the passes.

“Dates and hours were assigned to limit interaction and physical contact with other people,” Naga reminded its citizens.

Confiscated passes were turned over to village officials, who returned these to holders after three days after reminding them of the penalties that may be imposed if they commit further violations.
