LEGAZPI CITY –– The task force against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in this city has lifted its order of implementing window hours for residents to buy essential goods amid the enhanced community quarantine.
Mayor Noel Rosal said in an advisory that starting Wednesday, residents with quarantine pass would be allowed to go to public markets from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. based on the new clustered scheme.
Public and private establishments, including grocery stores, drug stores, food establishments with drive-thru services, banks, and utilities would be allowed to operate from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Establishments were advised to follow the protocols and hygienic measures. Customers without quarantine pass should not be allowed to enter the establishments, the advisory said.
On April 15, Rosal ordered the shortening of window hours to buy goods and the operation of establishments from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Department of Interior and Local Government has ordered local governments to stop setting window hours to buy food and medicine to avoid the congestion of people who flock to these establishments as it poses the risk of spreading COVID-19.
