LOOK: PH military deploying mobile kitchens

MANILA, Philippines—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has deployed two mobile kitchens to Quezon City on Monday to provide hot meals for the homeless and street dwellers in the coming days.

The military will serve 3,000 hot meals a day in the next few days. The project started at the village of Tatalon, according to AFP public affairs chief Capt. Jonathan Zata in a statement.

Stranded workers, students, informal settlers and families in impoverished communities are also expected to benefit from the mobile kitchens.

Culinary-trained soldiers will prepare the meals daily, while support personnel will deliver them to designated drop-off points, Zata said.

The project is being carried out by the Civil Relations Service commander, Maj. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr.
