The military will serve 3,000 hot meals a day in the next few days. The project started at the village of Tatalon, according to AFP public affairs chief Capt. Jonathan Zata in a statement.
Stranded workers, students, informal settlers and families in impoverished communities are also expected to benefit from the mobile kitchens.
Culinary-trained soldiers will prepare the meals daily, while support personnel will deliver them to designated drop-off points, Zata said.
The project is being carried out by the Civil Relations Service commander, Maj. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr.
