CITY OF CALAPAN, Philippines — Two coronavirus disease (COVID-19) confirmed patients in Oriental Mindoro have tested negative on their second tests, according to results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
The RITM report received by Governor Humerlito Dolor from the Department of Health Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) revealed that Patient 56 (a 3-year-old male from Nacoco village in this city) and Patient 57 (a 21-year-old male from Teresita in Mansalay town) tested negative of COVID-19 on their second tests.
Meanwhile, the results of their third tests are still pending which, if they also turn out negative, will classify them as recovered cases.
Both patients are now under strict home quarantine.
Earlier, Patient 44 (a 44-year-old male from Balatero in Puerto Galera) also tested negative on his second test and is also waiting for the result of his third test.
The province has recorded six COVID-19 positive cases since the pandemic started early this year.
Meanwhile, eight elderly patients in the province have tested negative for COVID-29, Dolor said, citing laboratory results from the RITM.
They are Patient 69 (a 70-year-old female) and Patient 70 (a 63-year-old male), both from Socorro town; Patient 71 (a 63-year-old male from this city); Patient 72 (an 82-year-old female from Pinamalayan town); Patient 73 (a 73-year-old female from Naujan town); Patient 74 (a 62-year-old female from San Teodoro town); Patient 75 (a 91-year-old female) and Patient 76 (an 80-year-old male) both from Roxas town.
