LUCENA CITY—At least seven more COVID-19 cases were recorded in Quezon on Monday (April 13), bringing the total number of validated virus carriers in the province to 32.
In a 4 p.m. bulletin on Monday, the Quezon Public Information Office (IPHO), citing report from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), said the seven new cases were traced to Lucena City (two cases), Pagbilao town (two cases) and one case each in Tayabas City and the towns of Real and Candelaria.
The spike in COVID-19 cases was the highest in a single day in the province since the pandemic broke out.
The report did not provide further details on the new COVID-19 cases.
On Sunday, the total recorded COVID-19 cases were only 25.
The number of local COVID-19 fatalities still remains at five, all elderly people aged 55 to 79 from the towns of Unisan, Candelaria, Calauag, Infanta and Tiaong.
At least three patients from Lucena City, Tayabas City, and Sariaya town, tested negative and were discharged from the hospitals.
With the recovery of the three patients and the deaths of five others, the number of active COVID-19 carriers in the province is down to 24.
Lucena has 10, Tayabas has four, Pagbilao has two, Unisan has two, Candelaria has two and one case each in the towns of Pitogo, Sariaya, Sampaloc and Real.
