Girl, 8, tests positive for COVID-19 in Quezon
LUCENA CITY — An eight-year-old girl has been recorded as the youngest confirmed carrier of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Quezon province.
In its 3 p.m. bulletin on Sunday, April 12, the Quezon public information office (QPIO), disclosed that the two latest cases recorded include a young girl from Pitogo town. She was officially tagged in the Integrated Provincial Health Office record as “QP #24”.
The girl was reported as “for admission” in a medical facility.
The youngest COVID-19 patient reportedly acquired the virus from her contacts with “QP #10” and “QPO #15”, both from nearby Unisan town.
“QP #10”, a 74-year-old man died on April 6, while “QP #15”, a 31-year-old female is still confined in an undisclosed hospital and in stable condition.
QPIO did not provide details on the relationship between the girl, “QP #10” and “QP #15”.
Article continues after this advertisementThe bulletin described “QP #25” as a 35-year-old male from Lucena City who had been exposed to “QP #13”, a 35-year-old female from Tayabas City.

With the latest report, Lucena City now has a total of nine recorded cases and Pitogo with one.
Quezon province has recorded a total of 25 COVID-19 validated cases as of April 12.
Out of the 25 patients with the disease, five had already died from the towns of Unisan, Candelaria, Calauag, Infanta, and Tiaong.
