Police seize P3-M worth of marijuana in Kalinga
MANILA, Philippines—Authorities caught and nabbed a man transporting roughly P3-million worth of marijuana (Cannabis Sativa) in Kalinga province on Monday.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesperson of the Philippine National Police, said the Cordillera police and anti-narcotics agents conducting checkpoint operations along the National Road at Sitio (sub-village) Luyucan, Lacnog village, Tabuk City discovered 125 bricks of marijuana inside Alex Paner’s Daewoo sedan (TLM-760) at around 6:45 p.m.
The illegal drugs were estimated to be worth P3,125,000, said Cruz.
Paner was taken into custody by Kalinga provincial police while the illegal drugs, found inside the car in five boxes, were seized and turned over to the Kalinga Crime Laboratory Office.
