288 stranded British nationals flown home

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 288 United Kingdom (UK) nationals stranded in the country due to enhanced community quarantine left Manila for London on Tuesday onboard two Philippine Airlines special flights.

The flights were organized by the British Embassy in Manila and were available to British subjects and UK residents who wished to return home.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the stranded British tourists were brought to Manila via sweeper slights from Cebu, Siargao, Tagbilaran and Puerto Princesa.

The British passengers took the PAL special flight PR 720 which left Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 2 at around 12:52 p.m.

The flight was set to arrive in London’s Heathrow Airport at 7 p.m. local time.

Another PAL flight to London, PR 8722 also departed from Naia Terminal 2 at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
