BI to suspend operations nationwide

/ 04:33 AM April 07, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday said that it would suspend some of its provincial operations nationwide during the Holy Week for disinfection.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said smaller field offices of the bureau will be temporarily closed to disinfect these offices amid the spread of COVID-19.

Morente said this was to protect both BI personnel and the public from contracting the disease. However, offices near operating international airports and its main office in Manila will remain open.
