Toll fees for all medical front-liners with private cars have now been waived, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Thursday, a week after the Toll Regulatory Board promised to discuss this possibility to help them get to work. However, they must secure first special RFID stickers from designated temporary booths depending on which expressway they use.
For medical workers passing through SMC-operated expressways—Southern Tagalog Arterial Road, South Luzon Expressway, Skyway, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (Naiax) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx)—they can get the stickers from Shell Magallanes and Naiax tollgate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those who traverse through TPLEx can get it from Petron KM 134 autosweep kiosks from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Those who pass through Metro Pacific-operated expressways like the North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Cavite Expressway and Cavite-Laguna Expressway can get the stickers from the expressways’ respective customer service centers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Medical professionals must show their Professional Regulation Commission license card and hospital ID. —Krixia Subingsubing
