MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will help the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the distribution of financial assistance to assure orderly and swift delivery of the subsidy to families.

Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, head of the Joint Task Force Corona Virus Shield (JTF CV Shield), said this in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive.

“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has instructed the police and the military to assist in the distribution of cash assistance to the indigent and other qualified families that were affected by the strict implementation of the enhanced community quarantine,” Eleazar, PNP deputy for operations, said in a statement.

“We assure the public that the President’s order will be done. In return, all we ask is for the people to respect the rules that will be implemented for the orderly and quick distribution of the cash assistance,” he added.

Eleazar added that he ordered all unit commanders and chiefs of police in Luzon to coordinate with DSWD local offices and map out plans for smooth distribution of cash assistance to poor families.
