3 new COVID-19 cases bring Cebu total to 28
CEBU CITY–Three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Cebu on April 1, bringing the total number of cases to 28.
The three new COVID-19 cases were from the cities of Mandaue and Cebu and Consolacion town, said Dr. Jaime Bernadas, Department of Health (DOH) director for Central Visayas.
The three new cases were confirmed after test results, among 60 at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, turned positive. Results of tests on the 57 others were negative.
As of 3 p.m. on April 1, total COVID-19 cases in Cebu City reached 20. Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities had two each while Cordova and Consolacion towns and the city of Talisay have one case each.
Bernadas said two COVID-19 patients in Cebu City had already recovered.
In Central Visayas, the total number of cases has reached 33, including six fatalities. Outside Cebu, four cases were reported in Negros Oriental and one in Bohol province. Siquijor remained COVID-19-free.
