Valenzuela City’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 10

MANILA, Philippines — A 41-year-old male is Valenzuela City’s latest recorded coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case, bringing the total number of cases of the city to 10 as of Tuesday.

The patient, identified as “VC 10”, had a history of travel to Japan. The local government unit said that the patient got admitted to a hospital and recovered from pneumonia.

“Our Valenzuela City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) will do nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs to the family members and identified close contacts of VC10,” the LGU said.

The LGU then advised residents who are experiencing symptoms, have travel history and/or exposure to a possible COVID-19 patient to call the Valenzuela City COVID-19 hotline: 8352-5000.

Previously, the Valenzuela local government’s record of COVID-19 cases in the area was at nine.

On Monday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported that there are currently 1,546 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

Of the said number of cases, 78 have died of the viral disease while those who successfully recovered were 42.
