MANILA, Philippines — An overstaying Kuwait national who also allegedly caused trouble in the neighborhood was nabbed in Davao Oriental,  the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Tuesday.

The Kuwait national was identified as 50-year-old Faisal Abdullah Almansour, who was arrested in his residence in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental on March 17, 2020.

BI acting intelligence  division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente issued a mission order against Almansour following a complaint from Mayor Katrina Joy Orencia.

Orencia said that Almansour had caused trouble in the community and had been the subject of several complaints from his neighbours.

The immigration bureau said that an investigation of Almansour’s travel history showed that he arrived in the Philippines as a tourist on June 12, 2012 and has not left the country since.

BI added that the Kuwaiti national had overstayed in the country for more than seven years and that his passport already expired two years ago.

However, no records show that Almansour applied for an extension of his stay or conversion of his status.

“He will thus undergo deportation proceedings for being an undocumented and overstaying alien,” Manahan said in a statement.

Almansour is detained at the BI district office in Davao City pending deportation proceedings.
