China’s Xian City donates medical equipment to Iriga City for COVID-19 frontliners
LIGAO CITY — Xian City has donated several medical equipment to the city government of Iriga in Camarines Sur province for its frontliners in the fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Iriga Mayor Madelaine Alfelor said in an interview via Facebook messenger that Mayor Li Mingyuan of Xian City, China, who is also the co-president of UCLG WORLD (United Cities Local Government) and a fellow member of UCLG ASPAC (Asian Pacific), shipped 1000 pieces medical protective suits, 2000 bottles antiseptic hand cleaners, 1000 pairs of safety googles, and 21000 pieces of disposable surgical masks.
“We received the package Friday. Actually we just sought their help to buy medical equipment but to my surprise they provided everything we needed,” she said.
She said the items will shared to hospitals in the city for the protection and safety of frontliners dealing with COVID-19.#
