Enrile in high spirits amid COVID-19 crisis

MANILA, Philippines — Despite being 96 years old, former Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile showed that he was in high spirits in view of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis plaguing the country.

In a Facebook video by his granddaughter Kristen on Saturday,  it showed the former senator waving both his hands high and giving her a flying kiss.

And in a light moment, Enrile showed that he was unafraid of the viral disease by saying “COVID, go away!”

Kristen’s post went viral on the social media site, with 4,800 likes and reactions.

On March 20, Enrile assured everyone that the rumors about him contracting the virus are wrong.

“I am still alive and relatively well. But like all the rest, my family and I are hiding from an invisible enemy called covid 19,” Enrile stated on Facebook.
