SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES — A government hospital in the capital town of Iba in this province has been designated as a facility exclusively for treating cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. said on Saturday.
In a statement, Ebdane said patients who are currently confined at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital (PRMMH) will be transferred to either San Marcelino District Hospital or Candelaria District Hospital and other nearby private hospitals.
Ebdane said only suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 will be accommodated at the PRMMH.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, on Friday confirmed that the province recorded its second COVID-19 case, a 70-year-old balikbayan from the U.S. The first case is a retired US Navy based in this town.
