Legazpi City deploys police team at COVID-19 patient’s apartment

LEGAZPI CITY –– The city government here has deployed a security team to monitor the American citizen who tested positive of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Mayor Noel Rosal said the patient was temporarily living in an apartment in Barangay Bagumbayan with her Filipina girlfriend.

The said village was placed under total lockdown on Friday night.

Lieutenant Colonel Aldwin Gamboa, city police chief, said since Friday night, a team was deployed to control the area and make sure that the patient would not go out of their home.

In a press release Friday night, the Department of Health said two patients in Albay tested positive for COVID-19, PH765 and PH766, 50- and 53-year-old men.

The release, however, erroneously said both patients were in the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital in Legazpi City.

“I was able to talk to him and he seems okay. We are still waiting for the medical personnel,” Gamboa said.
