Trough of LPA to bring cloudy skies, rain over South Cotabato, Sarangani

MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with a chance of rain over South Cotabato and Sarangani, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

“Isang trough ng LPA na nasa labas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility ang makakaapekto sa southern portion ng Mindanao, at yung sinasabi nating LPA na ito ay hindi natin inaasahan na magiging isang bagyo,” weather specialist Ana Clauren said during the 4 a.m. live weather update of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

(A trough of an LPA that is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will affect the southern portion of Mindanao, and that LPA is not expected to intensify into a storm.)

The easterlies, meanwhile, will affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and MIndanao, Clauren said.

“Magdudulo ito ng mainit at maalinsangang panahon sa malaking bahagi ng buong bansa,” she added.

(This will bring hot and humid weather to a large area of the whole country.)
