2 Laguna towns create way to help residents buy medicines while in quarantine

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – Cabuyao City and Rizal town in Laguna province are providing assistance for residents so they need not wait in line for hours at pharmacies amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In Rizal town, locals need not go to the neighboring town of Nagcarlan to buy their medicines. They can bring their prescriptions to the municipal hall and claim their medicines there.

Assigned municipal employees will do the buying. All these should be done within the town’s designated store or market hours.

In Cabuyao City, residents can bring their prescriptions to their respective village (barangay) halls or Malasakit Centers and claim their medicines there. Staff from the city pharmacy will process the purchases.

Prescription pick-up is at 9:30 a.m. and claiming of medicines at 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Each village is assigned a day when its residents can transact.
