MANILA, Philippines— Media personnel are no longer allowed to enter Malacañang’s press briefing room while the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine is in place, the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) said.
In an advisory dated March 26, PCOO said only resource speakers, RTVM cameramen and a moderator from the agency’s Office of Global Media and Public Affairs are allowed on the premises starting Thursday.
Instead, PCOO encouraged media to participate via “the virtual presser or by submitting questions either to the moderator or the resource speaker.”
PCOO also assured the list of resource persons will be advised to media personnel in advance.
“Media companies are encouraged to hook-up to PTV to air the public address on their respective channels,” it added.
PCOO said the restriction is meant to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
