Bulacan sends home 500 PUI, PUM after they were cleared of COVID

CITY OF MALOLOS –– Bulacan doctors are sending home more than 500 patients under investigation (PUI) and persons under monitoring (PUM), who were cleared of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections, the Provincial Public Health Office (PHO) announced this week.

Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, Bulacan PHO director, said 540 residents were told to get their medical certificates from their respective city or municipal officers or rural health physicians.

The development brought down the province’s number of PUI to 183 and PUM to 1,122.

Bulacan has nine positive COVID-19 cases: two each in the cities of San Jose del Monte and Malolos, and San Ildefonso town and one each in the municipalities of Baliwag, Guiguinto, and Bulakan.

Two of these patients – an elderly man and his adult son – have died in San Ildefonso. Baliwag’s case is Mayor Ferdinand Estrella, who has started to recover.
