2 more Manila residents diagnosed with COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Two more residents of Manila have contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total cases of the respiratory ailment in the national capital to 32, Mayor Isko Moreno confirmed on Wednesday.

“We have additional positive cases that are included in Department of Health. Two more were positive based on laboratory results,” Moreno said in Filipino in his city address.

On Tuesday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the city went up from 13 to 30, which was more than a 100% increase.

City hall also recorded 23 new persons under investigation (PUIs) for the disease, which brings the total number of PUIs to 104.
