4th week of March declared National Week of Prayer

/ 03:33 AM March 23, 2020

Two weeks after placing the country under a state of public health emergency, President Duterte has declared the fourth week of March a National Week of Prayer amid the novel coronavirus crisis. The President on Saturday signed Proclamation No. 934 urging Filipinos to pray for those stricken with COVID-19, as well as the front-liners in the fight against the dreaded viral illness. “I urge all Filipinos of all faiths, religious traditions and backgrounds to unite our hearts in prayer as we face the COVID-19 threat, fixing our eyes on the Almighty in this time of affliction,” he said. “Pray also for the strength and endurance for our outstanding medical professionals and health workers on the front lines, your military and law enforcement officers, the government officials and personnel dealing with the present threat,” he added. —Julie M.
